Current Notices
The Grand Rapids Beltline and Downtown Graduate Centers are both open regular hours and all classes will be held.
Register On-Line
Both campuses now have computers available at the front desk for students to use when registering for classes. Staff are available to walk a student through the steps. Stop in to try it out when registering for your next semester or session.

Beltline Campus
Here's a list of when registration generally opens:
Spring Semester: mid-October
Summer I Session: mid-February
Summer II Session: mid-February
Fall Semester: mid-March

Downtown Campus
You can also use your computer at home or work to register for upcoming classes in the same way. Let us walk you through it once, and you'll see what a great new benefit this is for you.
Course offering listings are now available on the Registrar's Page or in GoWMU.
- If the Main Campus in Kalamazoo is forced to close due to bad weather, the Grand Rapids Center will also close. (This is because so many faculty drive each day from Kalamazoo to teach in Grand Rapids, that we would expect most individual classes to be cancelled anyway.) Closing announcements for the main campus are available immediately at (269) 387-1001. This includes announcements that he university is closed, as well as announcements that the university will be closing at a specified time later in the day. If you call and hear, "There are no messages waiting," that means the main campus is open and there are no plans to close. Closing announcements are also posted immediately on the WMU home page, www.wmich.edu.
- If the weather or road conditions in Grand Rapids are considered too treacherous for safe local travel, the Grand Rapids Center may be forced to close, even if the Main Campus in Kalamazoo remains open. (Please note: University closing criteria are probably quite different from what is established by local public schools concerned about young children and bus transportation on rural roads.)
- Faculty generally try to reach consensus with students in their classes to determine how best to make up the instruction that was missed due to unanticipated closings and cancellations.
- Watch WOOD TV-8 or WZZM TV-13 or listen to WOOD-AM 1300, WOOD-FM 105.7, WLHT-FM 95.7, WLAV-FM 96.9 or WODJ-FM 107.3 for WMU Grand Rapids Center closing updates. We participate in the local GRAIL notification system, and always post closing notices to that system as early as possible. Our self-imposed absolute deadline for closure decisions and posting closing notices is 3 p.m.
